Take a vet fishing!

On Saturday, July 22, The Moriches Anglers will be hosting their annual Take a Vet Fishing trip. This year is the first year under the new name since the Great Gun Anglers merged with the Moriches Anglers to form a whole new club.

Registration for veterans will begin at the Brooklyn Dock at the foot of Union Avenue in Center Moriches at 7:30 a.m. During the event, vets will be treated to a day of fishing with all bait, tackle, and boats supplied by the club and local volunteers. Then, at 3 p.m., it’s back to the dock for a barbecue.

“This is our way of showing our veterans how much we appreciate all they do for us and our country,” said Evan Goldstein, president. “Our efforts are minuscule compared to all the sacrifices these people have made for us.”
