The American Legion Post 1738 Auxiliary will be hosting the tea on Sunday, May 5, at 2 p.m. at American Legion Post 1738, located at 340 Union Boulevard in West Islip. The event will feature refreshments including various teas and three levels of finger sandwiches, pastries, and other high tea fare, as well as a variety of raffle baskets.

“We sold out last year and we probably will end up sold out this year too. People have a great time—without any alcohol! Hard to believe, I know,” joked Diane Rossi-Fontana, co-president of the auxiliary. “The camaraderie between everyone is fantastic, and we are glad to do it.”

The American Legion Auxiliary supports the American Legion, honoring the veterans’ sacrifice by enhancing the lives of veterans, military, and their families. All funds from the Sunday Tea will go directly toward veterans, as the auxiliary regularly donates funds to United Veterans Beacon House and VA Northport Health Care.

United Veterans Beacon House is an organization that assists veterans and veteran families by providing the support and specialized services needed for their return to independence, while VA Northport Health Care supports the health, welfare, and dignity of female Veterans and their families by ensuring equal access to timely, sensitive, and quality care.

Tickets for the Ladies Tea cost $25 per person, and you can RSVP by calling Diane Rossi-Fontana at (516) 987-7972 by May 2.
