Tulips are almost in season!

Did you know, Waterdrinker Family Farms grows millions of tulip bulbs?
The annual Tulip Fest blooms in April. The owners predict that peak time will commence around April 15. Waterdrinker officially opens on April 1 to get ready and welcome in visitors with all the hoopla and festivities of a Holland festival.

“But we are always at the good pleasure of Mother Nature,” said owner Marc Weiss with a smile. “Weather will determine exactly when those hundreds of different varieties will bloom!”

Manorville soil has been most agreeable to cascades of tulip varieties, this year with even more and unique arrays and variations. Guests can truly tiptoe through the tulips and capture some of the finest, most breathtaking photo opportunities possible: bicycles in the field, giant Dutch shoes, a wishing well, and vintage cars!

Tulip Town at Waterdrinker is a miniature village inspired by Amsterdam, where kids can feel like giants.  And just a short stroll from there, the animals are always happy to see visitors. Say hello to the Kunekune pigs, visit the goats, and stop in at the greenhouse to see the Sulcata tortoises and Hops the Bunny. Other activities at the farm include the obstacle course, Waterdrinker’s Wooden Playland, tractor pedal cars and of course, the Jumbo Jump Pads. Practice your putt-putt skills and play a round of mini golf with the family.

Take a selfie by the windmill and enjoy live music and food trucks on the weekends. Ever tried a stroopwafel with coffee?  The Long Island Farm Brewery is located right next to the farm, and it is serving up some delicious beers for the season, including a Tulip Fest-inspired Dutch pilsner. The greenhouse/gift shop is bursting with garden supplies, beautiful spring flowers, garden supplies, and Tulip Festival souvenirs.

Waterdrinker is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the weekdays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends, rain or shine. Pet-friendly, leash required. Updates provided on social media and water-drinker.com.
