Bay Shore-Brightwaters Memorial Day parade
Monday, May 30, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Veterans’ services will begin at 9 a.m. at Memorial Park/Bay Shore train station. Parade step-off is at 10:30 a.m. at Lanier Lane and Main Street. The parade will proceed down Main Street to Brentwood Road and on to Oakwood Cemetery.
Islip Memorial Day parade
Monday, May 30, 10 a.m.
The Islip Memorial Day parade will be on Main Street. The parade will start at Main Street and Saxon Avenue and proceed down Main Street to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Procession will pause, then continue to the remainder of the 1-and-1/2-mile route to Veterans Memorial Park adjacent to Islip Town Hall. Elected officials will join the parade for the formal patriotic closing service. The parade is sponsored by American Legion Rusy-Bohm Post 411 and Auxiliary. After the Islip Town Memorial Day parade, all are invited back to the post (Rusy-Bohm, 39 Nassau Ave. ) for a good time and barbecue for all.
