Happy Fourth of July, everyone!

Posted

We have begun our seventh summer of feeding families referred to us by local school social workers. It gives a great and happy feeling to know you are helping your neighbors in need.

If you are interested in either packing or delivering food, please reach out to us at 631-848-9008. By now, this annual project is like a well-oiled machine—we get 34 boxes packed and ready to go in half an hour on Friday nights at 6 p.m., and deliveries on Tuesday mornings starting at 10 a.m. take about the same amount of time. As always, nonperishable goods and fresh eggs are always appreciated!

Our focus right now is on our Be A Hero: Every Child Matters carnival to be held Saturday, July 15, at the Center Moriches High School! The event will be held outside if the weather is nice, inside if it rains.

There’ll be games, prizes, activities; superheroes for take-your-own photo ops, music, a petting zoo, food trucks, vendors, a basket raffle—fun for all ages! The Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office will be providing free medical aid at the event for anyone interested.

Only $5 per person; children 2 and under are free. Whatever Helping Makes U Happy raises will be donated to the Center for Child Advocacy to promote child abuse awareness and prevention—such an important cause!

Won’t you please join us?
