Helping America’s VetDogs

On Feb.16, members of Friends of America’s VetDogs visited Helping Makes U Happy, where founder Keith Caputo presented them with a $6,000 check to help sponsor a service dog for an honorably discharged veteran. The service dog this check will help to sponsor will be named by the Friends group after someone who has brought great honor or credit to the military—in this case, “Protector,” after Lt. Michael P. Murphy.  The idea for the donation was brought about by Keith’s desire each year to help in the area of suicide prevention on P.S. I Love You Day.  Keith is a strong supporter of our veterans and was saddened to learn that approximately 17 veterans commit suicide each day.  It is our hope that Protector will provide the emotional and physical support necessary to help a disabled vet who has sacrificed for our country.
