Happy Birthday, Bobo!

Giraffes worldwide are on the “vulnerable” list—an even more important reason they celebrated Bobo’s 2nd birthday at the Long Island Game Farm on July 3. They sang “Happy Birthday” and gave him his favorite lettuce cake.

According to the IUCN, the world’s largest conservation organization, species of giraffes are on the “vulnerable” list because their populations are compromised due to habitat loss. 

“When visitors can get close to interesting and uncommon animals like Bobo,” said owner Melinda Novak, “they often come away with a new appreciation for conservation and nature, even life in general.”
