Folkie Fest returns at Moriches Field

Posted

The local favorite Folkie Fest will return to the Moriches Field Brewery this August.

In addition to good, cold drinks (wine or beer), the event will feature a mix of emerging and established artists, who will share their original works as well as some from mainstream artists. The lineup includes Kerry Kearney, Rorie Kelly, The Karpenteers Duo, Butterfly Cody Duo and Kathy Patterson. Also, new to the stage is local favorite Marty Attridge.

Kearney is known for his slide guitar and his “psychedelta” style; Kelly is an award-winning singer/songwriter; Henry and his wife, Kristi, are part of the popular tribute to the Carpenters band; and Attridge is singer/songwriter/musician that has been writing and performing music for several decades.

Folkie Fest is an ongoing concert series with local acoustic artists in the spirit of folk music as envisioned by the late Pete Seeger. They provide a listening space and support live, local, singer/songwriters sharing their original work. A portion of the proceeds are donated to the community center, and a 50/50 raffle is held to benefit Long Island Cares: The Harry Chapin Food Bank.

Join them on Tuesday, Aug. 15 at 5:30 p.m. at the Moriches Field Brewing Company, 1 Wilcox Avenue, Center Moriches, NY 11934. It is $10 at the door.
