Annual Memorial Day parade this month

The Moriches annual Memorial Day parade will take place on Main Street for a solemn remembrance. Veterans are asked to come and march, joining other organizations honoring all brothers and sisters who proudly served and have died.

The parade will take place on Monday, May 29 at 9 a.m., with lineup at 8 a.m., starting at Lake Avenue and Main Street. The parade will proceed east along Main to Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. A ceremony will then be held.

“Memorial Day is a special day,” said Center Moriches VFW Post 414 commander Bobby Galbraith. “It’s a day to remember and honor all those who served and have now passed away. We honor them with this special ceremony so they’ll never, ever be forgotten.”
