The Greater Sayville Chamber of Commerce will host Spring Fest 2025 on Saturday, April 12 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The rain date will be Sunday, April 26.
This year’s Springfest will have a visit from the Easter Bunny, who will hand out toy-filled eggs and take pictures with community members at the Carrot Patch in front of Coco & Ro.
There will be a potting shed where children can use paint markers on clay pots. “Children can show their creativity and plant a pansy to bring home with them as a courtesy from the chamber,” said president emerita of the chamber, Eileen Tyznar.
Other activities include spring games, a window scavenger hunt with new and old favorite stores on Main Street, guess the number of jelly beans, princesses, a petting zoo, magician, Disney inflatable obstacle course, face painting, and balloon artists.
The popular spring bonnet contest will also be held with registration from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. and prizes awarded at 3 p.m.
One winner will be selected from each of the following age categories: 5 to 8, 9 to 12, 13 to 17, and 18-plus.
“Bring your decorated, handmade, wearable bonnet, cap or hat from home,” said Tyznar. Bonnets are judged on creativity, originality, and color.
For adults, local Sayville winery Loughlin Vineyards will be hosting an area to “wine down.”
Next to Loughlin Vineyards will be BBQ King and a whole roster of live acts from South Bay Arts collaborated by owner Jack Licitra.
With April 12 being National Record Day (a biannual event inaugurated in 2008 to celebrate the culture of independently owned record stores), Buddha Belly Records on South Main Street has been chosen to be one of the record stores that met the criteria for the celebration.
