Sayville BOE candidate withdraws from race

Name will still appear on the ballot

Posted
From the Sayville School District:

Desmond Megna—one of three candidates on the ballot for the Sayville school board seat vacated by Norm deVenau, running against Mark Ruf and Christine Sarni—has “voluntarily and irrevocably” withdrawn his name from the May 17th school election ballot.

Due to the extremely short notice provided to the District, they were UNABLE TO MODIFY the current ballot.

This means that Mr. Megna’s name will still appear on the ballot, but he is no longer running as a candidate.

This notice is being distributed and displayed throughout the community as well as posted prominently at the election site on May 17th.

Desmond Megna was originally set to run against Mark Ruf and Christine Sarni.
