BELLPORT VILLAGE

Relax and unwind at Bellport Apothecary, the village’s newest shop

Posted

Like a scene fresh out of “Schitt’s Creek,” with not an item out of place, there is something for everyone at Bellport Apothecary. Giovanni Naso and his partner Sharon Munson, with the help of his mother Maria Naso, said they plan to open Bellport’s newest shop at 151 Main Street, the former Celadon storefront, next month.

The former owners of Celadon are switching gears for the storefront, but will still be offering interior design out of the backroom, after shutting down mid-march due to COVID.

“We will still be offering interior design while moving towards an apothecary for the store,” Naso said. “We will have full-service home and tabletop décor for the home while introducing a modern-day apothecary to the village.”

While binge-watching “Schitt’s Creek” on Netflix during quarantine, Naso and Munson got the bug to open their own apothecary.

“Everyone seems to relate to the show and it came at a time where we needed to laugh while the worst things were going on in the world,” he said, inspired by the show. “We want to offer the town a place to be able to feel good.”

The space has since completely transformed into a modern black-and-white beauty and wellness shop with freshly revealed 100-year-old original ceilings, painted bright white to match the aesthetic.

Among the offerings are bath bombs, salts, candles and robes. “We have everything to sooth the soul,” Naso added, explaining the shopping experience. “It’s what people need right now.”

The products offered in the store are natural and mostly supplied by mom-and pop shops from across the country as well as a high-end line from France. Prices range from $6 to $100.

The shop will also feature local pastries, honey and some refreshments for customers to graze on.

They truly do—or will—have all your favorite things in one place. For more information about Bellport Apothecary, visit them on Facebook.
