Center Moriches is a 2.04-square-mile hamlet and is located in Suffolk County, on the South Shore of Long Island. The name “Moriches” comes from Meritces, a Native American who owned land on Moriches Neck.

According to BridgeHampton Real Estate Broker and owner Kevin Loiacono, Center Moriches has a quiet Hamptons feel, with a quaint Main Street with waterfront homes and plenty of waterfront access including Holiday and Webby’s beaches as well as the popular Terrell River Park. As for young people looking to purchase in the area, he said they have many parades and in-town events like street fairs, Halloween March of the Goblins (trick-or-treating in town at local businesses), the annual Spooky Walk at Camp Paquatuck, and sailing classes at the local yacht club.

“It’s the land that time forgot—a very quaint,” he said of the area, also noting the more modern additions including a Goldberg’s Deli and the Westhampton classic, which is now in Center Moriches.

His agency specifically, he said, is located in Center Moriches and provides both residential and commercial real estate services. Also, his agents are local from the surrounding towns. Loiacono has lived in the area of East and Center Moriches since 2000.
