On Wednesday, May 22, The Patchogue Arts Council will host a lecture in its “Learning to Look” series at the Museum of Contemporary Art on Terry Street.
Professor John Cino will lead a discussion on post-minimalism, a term coined by the art historian and critic Robert Pincus-Witten, that refers to a general reaction by artists in America beginning in the late 1960s against minimalism and its insistence on closed, geometric forms.
“These dissenting artists eschewed the impersonal object for more open forms,” said Cino.
