Successful vaccination POD in Brookhaven Town

Posted

Brookhaven Town supervisor Ed Romaine and members of the town council today announced the successful completion of a COVID-19 vaccination Point of Delivery (POD) at the Rose Caracappa Senior Citizen Center in Mt. Sinai.

Working together with the New York State Vaccine Equity Task force, a total of 1,500 vaccinations were administered by Northwell Health to residents over the course of two days (April 17 and 18).

This was the second POD the town has hosted, with the previous one being a Sun River Health event targeting Brookhaven seniors who were having difficulty scheduling vaccination appointments.

Both events combined to administer a total of 2,300 vaccinations. Brookhaven Town will continue to work with Suffolk County and the State of New York to provide accessible vaccinations for all residents.  Any future COVID-19 vaccination PODs will be announced on the town’s website and social media accounts.
