Our Lady of the Queen Apostles Regional Catholic School eighth-graders are currently in the process of completing their REACH projects, a requirement for graduation.
REACH projects are a two-year endeavor, where students both review existing literature and conduct their own research. Part of the process also includes presenting their study in various forms during the REACH symposium, which will be held this year on Tuesday, May 6. The event will be held at 6 p.m. in the OLQA auditorium
The symposium will have two major parts:
1-Student presentations. Students will present their findings to those gathered in 3-to-4-minute presentations. It is strongly encouraged to ask questions at the end of each presentation to help students articulate and defend their research.
2- The REACH Fair. Following the presentations, students will be available at tables throughout the auditorium for individual questions and comments.
Students also present posters and run visual presentations during this time.
“This experience provides students with opportunities to make use of many skills, from public speaking, defending their presentations, answering questions and more. We hope the entire REACH process prepares them well for secondary school and college,” said principal Dawn Waller.
