On Wednesday, Jan. 7, the Rotary Club of the Moriches recognized two Center Moriches High School Interact Students of the Month at its bi-monthly meeting. The meetings are held at JC’s Restaurant in Manorville.

The club hosted students of the month Laila Cole, November, and Mateo Silva, December, and Liala’ s parents, Kiana and Keenan. Also joining us were Anthony Navas and Brett O’Brien, the Interact Club advisors and Center Moriches High School teachers.

The Interact/Peer Leadership Club at the high school is affiliated with the Moriches Rotary and similarly is dedicated to school and community service, bettering their peer-student experience and interacting with their community. Laila and Mateo are both exceptional senior students and are both planning to move on to college after graduation in June and have bright futures ahead.

The Rotary Club of the Moriches is planning a major fundraiser to benefit Camp PaQuaTuck on the first weekend of May 2026.

The PaQuaTuck Oyster/Seafood Festival will be a weekend-long celebration. There will be many food choices, land and sea, live entertainment, many activities for all ages, carnival amusement rides and many different street vendors, all taking place on the grounds of Camp PaQuaTuck in Center Moriches.

Watch for more information and details to come here in the Tide. Details, times and dates to come soon. The Rotary Club of the Moriches meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at JC’s Restaurant at Pine Hills in Manorville.

Please come join us and consider becoming a member of this great community service organization and see how you can become an asset to this great community of ours.
