On May 18, Rotary District 7255 held their annual Day of Service. Each Rotary Club in the district picked a project that would benefit their community.
The Rotary Clubs of The Moriches, Patchogue, Port Jefferson, and Rocky Point chose Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck in Center Moriches to do different projects at the camp to help prepare for the upcoming season.
Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck is a not-for-profit summer camp for special-needs children and young adults.
The Moriches Rotary Club and Port Jefferson Club chose to paint the fence surrounding the gazebo field area. Rocky Point Club chose to restore the concrete Rotary Wheel at the base of the flagpole. The Patchogue Club assembled all of the outdoor furniture and lifeguard stands for the brand-new swimming pool and spray pad. Rocky Point Club and Northwell Health provided a continental breakfast and barbecue lunch.
A great day of fellowship and accomplishment was had by the over 50 Rotary volunteers. I would like to thank all the Rotarians who contributed their time and service to help get the camp ready for our special campers to attend the weeklong sessions at Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck, where “Summer is for Everyone.”
