Moriches Chamber update

Scout award and featured businesses night

Posted

Last month, the chamber had help from Eagle Scout Eric Corn of Troop 414. Eric and his troop helped put up and take down the flags along Main Street. He has the highest rank of badges and received a merit award.

The Brookhaven Coalition Chamber of Commerce will also hold its Awards Night on April 20, at Stereo Garden in Patchogue. The chamber will also be announcing their Member of the Year during their April 4 meeting.

March’s featured business was Good Bickle, located at 617 Montauk Highway in Center Moriches. Owner Yakeev Chance brings the taste of Jamaica to Center Moriches by sharing his mother’s and grandmother’s recipes. According to chamber president Jackie Osborne, they had a sample during the last meeting, and it was delicious.

The chamber is also busy working with new committees to help businesses continue to grow. The new committees include Membership Committee, Restaurant Committee, New Events Committee, Retail on Main, Downtown Beautification Committee, and Fundraiser Committee. Anyone who would like to join a committee should contact the chamber at info@moricheschamber.org.

“We are always looking for community members to help us make our community great!” said Osborne, also hoping to promote local shopping.

The April chamber meeting will be held on April 4 at the Moriches Field Brewing Company, 1 Wilcox Avenue, in Center Moriches. The meeting starts at 6 p.m. for business networking and 6:30 p.m. for the chamber meeting.

The chamber is hard at work for their businesses and community; check out their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/MorichesChamberofCommerce and Instagram. For promotions and activities visit their website at moricheschamber.org.
