Moriches Chamber of Commerce Student of the Month

Sophia Raimondi, a senior at Center Moriches High School, was recently named the November Moriches Chamber of Commerce Business Student of the Month

Raimondi has been a Girl Scout since kindergarten and earned her Bronze and Silver Awards. As a Girl Scout, she has volunteered with the Helping Makes U Happy auction and with her troop to make food for the homeless with St. John’s Church, and also in their thrift store. She also helped collect water bottles to raise money to go to the veterans.

She is on the varsity soccer and varsity girls lacrosse teams. As a varsity lacrosse player, she has been awarded to the All-Rookie team as a sophomore, and last year won Unsung Hero.

She also volunteers to help Moriches Youth Organization and helps coach the fifth- and sixth-grade girls lacrosse team. She volunteers during the winter to work with K-sixth-grade youth girls lacrosse clinics.

In school, she is a member of the National Honor Society, Math Honor Society, English Honor Society, Science Honor Society, Foreign Language Honor Society and Social Studies Honor Society. She is the vice president for the Mindfulness and Yoga Club and a member of the Deca Club.

Next year, she will be attending Georgian Court University, where she will be playing Division 2 lacrosse and majoring in business administration. After college, she hopes to get into a social media marketing job for a brand within the fashion industry.
