Meet Westhampton Beach Val and Sal

Valedictorian: Gavin Elers

Elers plans to attend Wake Forest University where he will double major in business mathematics and biochemistry. At WHB, he is a National Merit Scholarship Finalist, AP Scholar with Distinction, a member of the Math, Science, and World Language Honor Societies, and a Rensselaer Math and Science Medal Award winner. He is also a two-time All-State, four time All-County, three-time All-Long Island, two-time County Champion Cross Country athlete, as well as an All-American, two time All-State, team Captain, three time All-County, and two County Champion Winter Track athlete and an All-Long Island, All-County, County Champion Spring Track athlete. Elers is also a Rolling Thunder Special Needs Track volunteer coach, National Honor Society treasurer, ESL Friends for Friends, and a Southampton Baseball School volunteer coach.

Salutorian: Madison Quinn

Quinn plans on majoring in business or political science, but has not yet decided on a college. She is the president of National Honor Society, vice president of Yearbook Club, vice president of Interact Club, and secretary of Student Government. She was a lacrosse and soccer player as a freshman and sophomore and LITI HUGS teen leadership retreat member. She has also been awarded the Bausch and Lomb Honorary Science Award, as an AP Scholar with Distinction, National Merit Scholar, NYS Scholarship for Academic Excellence, and Rotary Student of the Month.
