Local company raises $10,000 for CM nonprofit

American Dream Abstract, a title company located in Patchogue, recently raised $10,000 for Helping Makes U Happy, a Center Moriches-based not-for-profit charity, founded by Keith Caputo and his mother, Cassy Caputo. The Dream Big Holiday Benefit took place at Stereo Garden.

“Ten thousand dollars is huge for Helping Makes U Happy—especially as we have not been able to hold our big annual fundraiser, which raised much of the money we use for helping, since the pandemic began,” said Cassy Caputo.

She went on further to say that events like the Dream Big Holiday Benefit are important because they enable likeminded people to connect and bond over the desire to help others.

“Fundraisers like this are so important for our organization—not only in terms of the money raised, which, of course, we are so grateful for because it will enable us to help so many—but also in terms of networking. Networking and meeting new people at fundraisers enables Keith to spread his helping message even further. People are so inspired to listen to him speak about what he does and to see all he does. Then, to find out that we are an all-volunteer organization—and that all the money goes to helping—they inevitably walk away saying they are going to do more, too; which, of course, is part of his message: ‘There’s nothing like the happy you get from helping others’,” said Cassy Caputo.
