Keith's Corner: We're really cooking now

Here’s what’s cooking for the month of March!  Helping Makes U Happy will be hosting some “Cooking with a Cop” events at their building with SCPD COPE officers, pictured above with founder Keith Caputo.  

We’ll be excited to have the OLQA fifth-grade class and Smile Farms Inc. consumers come to participate!  On March 5 we will be participating in a transition/resource fair being hosted by the Longwood SEPTA at Longwood High School from 6-8 p.m. 

We will also be showing our support by donating to the second annual Chinese auction in honor of Jack Voellm to be held March 7 at East Moriches Elementary School.  All proceeds benefit M.A.D.D. Don’t forget to come down to the St. Patrick’s Day parade on Main St. in Center Moriches on March 15—we’ll have our usual table out selling green shirts and hoodies to benefit your community.  

On March 22, Helping Makes U Happy’s Comfort Case project will be the beneficiary of an event being held at United Skates of America in Massapequa from noon-2:30 p.m. We are so looking forward to this and are so grateful to Danielle Losonci and Elizabeth Binckes of Local Impact OT for the assistance in helping children in need. 

Finally, we are always happy to support Camp Paquatuck by donating a Respite Weekend Prize to their March 28 Joy Prom—such an amazing event! Just a heads up to those doing some early spring cleaning—we’ll be having an indoor yard sale at the HMUH building in mid-April. If you have items you’d like to donate, please call 848-9008 (no large items or electronics, please).
