KEITH'S CORNER

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Posted

At Helping Makes U Happy, we are starting off the month Dec. 1st with a fun night of holiday craft-making at the Moriches Field Brewing Co.

We are in the planning stages with Oasis Rehab of our annual outdoor festivities to bring some joy and holiday gifts to the residents there. If you are interested in helping out or donating a small new gift, please call or text 631-848-9008 for more information.

We are also so pleased and thankful that Bay Gardens has offered to partner up with us to collect toys for local families this holiday season. On Dec. 11, they’ll be having a Christmas festival from 1 to 5 p.m., the proceeds of which will be donated to help support Suffolk County police officer Timothy Thrane and his family. Officer Thrane was struck and injured last month on William Floyd Parkway and has a long, difficult road ahead of him. We are proud to support Bay Gardens’ efforts in this, and hope to see you all there.

Please bring a new unwrapped toy to donate if you are able. Not only do we help the families referred to us, we also help several organizations and schools who request assistance so their families in need can have a free Christmas shopping night.

To this end, we’d also like to thank the State Farm Office of Carmine J. Campisi in Calverton, who is also hosting a toy drive for us—we are very grateful.

We are all looking forward to watching the CMFD Parade of Lights the evening of Dec. 11—we really missed it last year!

On Dec. 16, Helping Makes U Happy is thrilled to be the honoree at the Dream Big Holiday Benefit at the Stereo Garden in Patchogue. This event, sponsored by American Dream Abstract, promises to be a great evening with a silent auction, basket raffle, 50/50, and music, and will be a tremendous help to our organization! Keith loves networking and is really looking forward to spreading his helping mission at this event! For more information, please contact Jodi Brust at 631-714-9158.

Of course, all month long we’ll be wearing our elf hats, preparing to make the holidays bright for many local families referred to us. We love delivering the Christmas breakfast baskets, dinner boxes, and gifts—it warms our hearts as much as theirs, and isn’t that what the holidays should be about?

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all, and to all a good night!
