MORICHES

Here are the summer activities available at Moriches Community Center

Posted

Though the Moriches Community Center headquarters is closed, the organization will be doing different events to engage the community this summer.

MCC will host a week-long half-day Olympic Camp behind the building on the athletic fields. Olympic Camp 2020 will be open to kids in grades 5-8 and led by coaches Michael Valentine, Sonny Saguto and Carly Saguto. The camp will offer fun, engaging, and socially distant activities 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. daily. There are four registration sessions, with cost being $130 per child, or $125 for siblings. Campers must bring their own mask, water, sunscreen, hand sanitizer, and a snack. There will be no Camp Creativity or Theater Arts Camp this year.

MCC has also partnered with Yoga for Health Long Island, which offers yoga, meditation, and wellness classes virtually. There are live sessions that can be joined for $10 per household, or pre-recorded sessions on the Yoga for Health LI YouTube page. There are sessions for both teens and adults.

MCC is hoping to have the center open again in September to be able to offer their in-person programs once again. For more updates, events, or information, visit www.morichescommunitycenter.org.
