Beloved pet José stolen

Posted

Keep an out for this white goat with black markings, for he was recently believed to be stolen from East Moriches. Baha, of Baha Farms, known for seasonally selling vegetables and firewood in the winter at his farm stand near the former Lufker Airport, lost his beloved pet goat, José, on Dec. 8. He believes it to be stolen and has cared for the animal for over three years.

“I don’t understand why somebody would steal my pet,” Baha said with a
broken heart. “José was my best friend. Please be good to him. But please bring him back to me.”

Joined by his friend and local East Moriches resident Tammy McGann, the search for the missing goat has gained traction with over $1,800 in a “no questions asked” reward for the return of José.

“Money keeps coming in from more people,” McGann said. “This is a really big loss for Baha. He loved that pet like family. If anyone has the goat, I will come and get him.”

She said the goat has a few brown markings and weighs about 150 pounds,
though frequently went for rides with Baha in his van, and must have been
coerced into a vehicle when taken.

“I know José is crying right now,” she said. “He loved his owner.”
