Long Island’s largest and longest-running four-day music festival is finally back. Presented by the Blue Point Brewing Co., Great South Bay Music Festival will be celebrating its 14th anniversary this July.
After a two-year COVID-induced hiatus, the festival will finally take place again at Shorefront Park in Patchogue Village, from July 7 through 10.
“It was painful to cancel once, but three times was absolutely maddening,” said festival producer Jim Faith. “We are psyched to be back after two and a half years and bringing live entertainment back to our community.”
There will be a full lineup of over 55 performers on four stages, in classic and contemporary rock, blues, indie, jam, pop, Americana, country, reggae, alternative and funk genres. Headliners include the Tedeschi Trucks Band, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Grouplove, Manchester Orchestra, Steel Pulse and more.
Children are also welcome, with specially commissioned music from The Kennedy Center: Squonk: “Hand to Hand.” The performance includes two giant moving puppet hands the size of a house, with music that blows the roof off. Squonk will only be performing in the metro New York area at the Great South Bay Music Fest.
There will also be over 30 emerging local artists, including The Robinson Treacher Band, Quarter Horse, Aubrey Haddard, Oogee Wawa, Zuli Jr., Scared 20, Circus Mind, and a very young Samsara.
Blue Point’s main activity at the fest is going to be located by the Sunshine Stage.
“This year, we’ve partnered with Project Greenhouse, a collective of community curators to bring to life Camp Blue Point, which can be considered a home base for all things beer and chilling,” said Shelby Poole, brewery experience manager. “We’ll have beer samplings, games, a recharge station, and a waterfront lounge complete with hammocks and day beds. It’s going to be the perfect place to step away from the stage and savor some excellent vibes.”
Their beer lineup will be available throughout the festival, including Summer Ale, Toasted Lager, Blueberry Ale, Hoptical Illusion, Spectral Haze, Imperial Sunshine, and Anytime Sunshine.
Additionally, the fest will include craft beer tents from Blue Point Brewery, an artisan and craft market, and a food court.
Tickets are available to purchase now at www.greatsouthbaymusicfestival.com. Great South Bay Music Fest is also a proud part of the community and is committed to supporting the less fortunate, as they plan to continue to donate $1 from every ticket sold to the GSB-Stony Brook Cancer Center Fund. To date, the fest has raised over a quarter of a million dollars for the cancer center.
