The chamber is proud to present their summer concert series, with the support of Legis. Jim Mazzarella and Center Moriches Public Library for their generous donations.
The concerts will be held in two locations: on the front lawn of Clayton Huey Elementary School in Center Moriches and The Sailors and Soldiers Park in East Moriches.
Last year, attendance was high and everyone had a great time, said president Jackie Osborne.
“These concerts are a great way to enjoy our beautiful summer nights listening to music and being with family,” she said. “Bring a lawn chair and enjoy!”
This year’s series will run this July and August. Dates include July 12 and 26 Aug. 2, 16 and 30 at Clayton Huey; and July 5 and 19 and Aug. 9 and 23 at Sailors and Soldiers Park. All performances will be from 7 to 9 p.m.
The chamber is currently seeking sponsorship opportunities from local businesses. Lawn signs for sponsors will be posted on the schoolgrounds during the performances.
For a $100 donation, new sponsors will have their lawn sign posted for each of the seven performances, reaching not only the attendees, but car traffic passing by the school during the concerts. Sponsors from last year will only pay $75, as they will reuse last year’s sign.
The funds received from the sponsorships help the chamber to offset some of the costs of the performers and the advertising/marketing expenses to make the concert series a success.
The chamber suggests participants bring chairs and/or a blanket for seating on the grass and to dress appropriately for an evening outdoors.
This is a free event for the community; attendees should bring a blanket, lawn chairs, and snacks. No alcohol.
