Chamber member of the year Jimmy Osborne honored

The Chamber of Commerce of the Moriches has selected Jimmy Osborne as their 2022 Member of the Year.  At the Brookhaven Coalition of Chambers of Commerce annual awards dinner on April 26 held at the Meadow Club in Port Jefferson Station, in front of 16 chambers of commerce located in the Town of Brookhaven, the chamber recognized Osborne for his many years of service to the community and participation in the chamber.  Osborne, with his wife Jackie, operate a music store on Main Street in Center Moriches. He has for decades provided music lessons to community residents.  “Jimmy is always quick to say yes and volunteer his time to the community when asked to help,” said Art Gerhauser, chamber president. The Moriches communities for years has sponsored a Relay for Life, a 24-hour fundraising event with the proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.  Osborne was the M.C., his band performed at the relay, and Osborne lined up other bands for almost continuous entertainment during the event.  Osborne is also the announcer at their St. Patrick’s Day parade, and often plays at the St. Patrick dinner honoring the grand marshal held each year at the Rock Hill Country Club. The chamber will also recognize Osborne as our Member of the Year at their upcoming Business Networking Event in June.
