The Brookhaven Coalition of Chambers Awards Night will be hosted on April 22 at the Meadow Club on Port Jeff. This year’s Moriches Chamber Member of the Year is Jenny Susskraut.

“The Moriches Chamber of Commerce is proud to recognize Jenny Susskraut as the Chamber’s Member of the Year, honoring her outstanding dedication to community service, leadership, and local engagement,” said chamber president Jackie Osborne. “Jenny Susskraut has been actively involved in strengthening her community for many years, consistently dedicating her time and energy to initiatives that support families, schools, local organizations, and small businesses. Her commitment to service is evident in every role she undertakes.”

Before becoming a mother, Susskraut  served as a Girl Scout leader mentoring girls and helping them build confidence, leadership skills, and a strong sense of community responsibility. She also volunteered at a local animal shelter and with the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Currently, she serves as a member of the PTO board. As for her involvement with the chamber, she started representing her husband’s South Shore Plumbing and Heating business serving three years as a board member.

“Through every stage of her life, Jenny has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to giving back, building meaningful connections, and helping her community thrive,” added Osborne. “The Moriches Chamber of Commerce is honored to celebrate her contributions and recognize her as a truly deserving recipient of this award.”

Tickets to the dinner are $65. The BCCC also offers grants; winners will be announced at the dinner. This event is also an evening of networking with other chambers, celebrating outstanding members, and raffles.

SPRING FAIR

The Chamber of Commerce of the Moriches will be hosting its annual Spring Fair on June 14 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Main Street will be closed for the day.

This year’s event, according to Osborne, promises a fun-filled day featuring a wide variety of vendors, live music from talented local artists, delicious food trucks, and offerings from our wonderful local restaurants.

“Be sure to stop in and explore the many unique shops along Main Street,” she said.
