Aspiring Eagle Scout to install blessing box

eremy Masterson is pursuing his Eagle Scout ranking by building a blessing box/food pantry at The Christ Lutheran Church in East Moriches. The blessing box will allow donors to leave nonperishable food and others to take what is needed. 

“This box will allow people to stay anonymous, to not be judged for their economic situation, and still get the food or necessities they need,” he said, noting his GoFundMe page already garnered $500 of his $550 goal. “Your support will help many people in my community and will make my community stronger as a result.”

The funding, he said, will help to collect materials needed to build the box as well as the first donations to fill it, and food and water for his crew. All additional proceeds will go to the beneficiary, The Christ Lutheran Church, into donations.
